An important part of the project implementation was to spread the main message to all the students and teachers and, of course, to more people outside in the local community. Simultaneously with teachers&#8217; lessons in classes, we displayed the manifesto, all around in the building, so everybody read and think about the principles of the manifesto. Bit by bit, in this five months, following the worksheets being applied and organizing #KindSpeechDay campaigns, among sharing all the communication products on our social-media accounts, project Amelie&#8217;s objectives have been satisfying achieved. I sincerely made this post only to share to you all, one piece of smart communication about the Amelie Project and its manifesto, made by our student council and spread it on their Instagram, teenagers social media beloved channel:<\/p>\n<p>\u201dDo you know how to communicate? Everybody would say \u201dYeah, off course!\u201d, but we don&#8217;t mean speaking in its rudimentary form. To communicate it is necessary to be aware of the ten points of the non-hostile communication&#8217;s manifesto. The purpose it&#8217;s not to speak without saying something.\ud83c\udf99We aren&#8217; t bottomless shapes. Therefore, it would be recommended that these &#8220;rules&#8221; be followed, despite the impulsiveness with which we would like to react in different situations.\ud83e\uddfe\u201d<br \/>\n Teachers implemented worksheets in classes:<\/p>\n<p>        Raica Luciana: &#8211; The spectrum of hatred, offline and online<br \/>\nDuring the guidance and counselling class, I asked my 6th graders to imagine a great and beautiful tree with a thick tall trunk that had just been carved with different names and inscriptions by some people. Then, I asked one of my students that was good at drawing to draw that tree on the board, focusing more on the trunk. In the meanwhile, I asked the others to write an offending word on a piece of post-it. Although the students were reluctant at first, saying that they couldn`t write ugly words, I told them to keep on writing, imagining that the words written there, on that piece of post-it, were to be addressed to someone they didn`t like. And so, eventually, I asked them to stick their post-it on the tree trunk. It looked nice (as it was colourful due to the post-it colours) but the words there were terrifying! Actually, those offending words were more than they could stand, gathered there altogether. That was exactly my point! To make them realize that, just like a tree trunk can`t be `brought back to life` after having been badly carved, in its initial look, the same way an offending word- let alone several words- can never be erased from a person`s soul\u2026Those words, said with hatred, will always remain there forever, even if one apologizes afterwards.<br \/>\nAnd so, we kept on talking about hatred, in its different shapes, ending up our activity thinking of one of Maya Angelou`s quotes, as a conclusion: \u201cHate, it has caused a lot of problems in this world, but has not solved one yet.\u201d And always remembering that: \u201cIf you hate someone, you are not hurting the person you hate, but yourself.\u201d<br \/>\nSuch a great activity and so many different feelings gathered! Hopefully, the word `hatred` will remain hidden there, in the pages of a dictionary, maybe, but not in our mind and soul.<br \/>\n         <img loading=\"lazy\" I prepared a power point presentation with some information about the project, the novel \u201cDavid Copperfield\u201d and the questions and activities suggested in the worksheet available on the platform. We read some extracts from Chapter 5 which I introduced one after the other so as to stimulate the students and arouse their interest and make them predict the content of the next extract. They commented on them, expressed their opinions and brought valid arguments. The students concluded that the novel was written in a different period of time when people had different mentalities and what was acceptable then, is unacceptable nowadays. Many students said a student would not accept to be treated as David was. Such a treatment is unacceptable, and they will not tolerate to be dishonoured. Then, each student wrote an anonymous note with the worst thing they have been called and put it in a jar. They insisted to continue the activity by drawing a note from the jar, reading and commenting on what was written on it. There were labels like, \u2018fat\u2019, \u2018stupid\u2019, \u2018bitch\u2019, \u2018gypsy\u2019, \u2018adopted\u2019 etc. and they disapproved with them. I could also notice that students had different perceptions about what means \u2018to be labelled\u2019. Some of them, if labelled, don\u2019t seem to be affected and deride the labels while for others, the label is seen as an urge for change. A student gave himself as an example. His friends used to call him \u2018fat\u2019 (and that\u2019s how he was), so this made him lose weight. Overall, it was an interesting activity that made them more aware of the consequences of words. They talked openly about the words they use both in face-to-face conversation and online to label their friends and about the impact of labels in the online environment.<\/p>\n<p>                    &#8211; Burdens and honours of being an influencer https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/cnme.petrosani\/posts\/2878189855807638<br \/>\nOn 2 June 2022, I did this activity with 2 groups of students (9D intensive English group and 11B \u2013 intensive English group). I introduced the project to them, they defined the term \u201cinfluencer\u201d, we discussed about the pros and cons of being an influencer and analyzed the examples provided in the \u2018Sources\u2019. They watched the video on YouTube, some of them knew about the incident in which Rihanna was involved and commented on the incident with Marta Losito. Then, in groups, they wrote words they would use that give confidence or discourage when a product or service is advertised. They brought a lot of arguments and examples and were very active as it was an interesting topic with which they were very familiar. They all agreed that no matter whether you are an influencer or not, you should choose your words carefully and wisely.<br \/>\nThis is the video with the photos taken during the activity:<br used by them or by colleagues in everyday life, which children can no longer conceive without online. The activity produced smiles, dissatisfaction, revolt or even sadness in just a few minutes (for the same students) and made them more aware of the effects of words spoken daily or occasionally. Especially, the Parole Ostili Manifesto, generated deep conversations upon its ten principles. In the end, the teenagers have noted on a piece of sheet their favourite principle or a few words that can help others to fight against very disturbing growth of online hate-speech.<br \/>\n                 &#8211; Listen to understand<br \/>\nEmpathy was the main concept in the class discussion upon Listen before you speak activity. I have chosen alternate role playing to make every student understand the different perspectives of a certain behaviour and its consequences. Especially, the ten principles of the manifest elaborated by Parole Ostili, raised deep discussions about fighting online hate-speech. Constructive speech must be fair and is a better way to make a point. Ideas can be discussed and an insult NEVER is an argument. To respect your opponent means to respect yourself.<br \/>\n                           &#8211; Burdens and honours of being an influencer<br \/>\nStudents manifested high enthusiasm regarding the theme we have discussed. Analyzing the ethic aspect of the influencers\u2019 communication was very interesting to debate. Using the manifesto\u2019s principles and examples we could show the variety of effects upon the followers. Internet is a public place where everyone must pay attention on how they deliver the messages.<br \/>\n                          &#8211; Lets popularize our Manifesto<br \/>\nStudents were familiarized with the principles of the non-hostile communication manifesto elaborated by ParoleOstili, partner of the Amelie Project. They were surprised that only ten sentences encompass the right conduct when we communicate online and offline.
